SIPOC stands for Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, and Customers. This analysis gives a clear picture of all stakeholders and business activities beyond simply analyzing the process activities.
The SIPOC analysis is used for identifying stakeholders and activities for business case flowcharting, cost/benefit analysis, and quality assessment and planning. Once all SIPOC categories are listed/defined you can focus on the process analysis, however as SIPOC gives the big picture of the business around the business case it may reveal additional quality issues. problems, and opportunities for improvement.
